MCP connector

An MCP connector for your print shop data.

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI tools to outside data. With rastr's connector, an AI tool you already use can answer questions from your shop: what is on the board, which invoices are open, who your top customers are.

What it can read

  • Quotes, sales orders, invoices and receipts: lists you can filter, and the full record for one.
  • Customers and products, and a search across your records.
  • The job board, column by column, and how many jobs each printer has.
  • Jobs at risk of running late, with a suggestion for each.
  • The dashboard figures, a sales summary and your top customers.

It also offers three ready-made requests: a daily briefing, what is holding up jobs today, and a review of one customer.

Read only

Every tool the connector offers only reads. It can't create, change or delete anything in rastr. Its token carries a single read permission, and the rest of rastr refuses it.

The same permissions as the app

The connector answers as the person who made the token. If their role can't open a screen in rastr, the AI tool can't read that data either. Revenue and other shop-wide figures are for admins only, as on the dashboard.

Setting it up

  1. An admin opens Company Settings, then Integrations, and issues a token.
  2. rastr shows the token and the connection settings once. Copy them into your AI tool.
  3. Ask your question in that tool.

Your AI tool has to support MCP servers over the web with a bearer token. A token works for 90 days, and you can revoke it at any time.

On the Business plan

The MCP connector comes with the Business plan. Every plan has the assistant built into rastr. Compare plans.
